The Rajab and Siham Jubaili Foundation Establish a Scholarship at AUB

The American University of Beirut (AUB) recently announced the establishment of the Rajab and Siham Jubaili Foundation Scholarship in the presence of Executive Chairman of Jubaili Group Rajab Jubaili; Senior Vice President for Advancement and Business Development Imad Baalbaki; Associate Vice President for Development, Alumni Relations, and University Events Salma Oueida; Director of Development Mariam Sabbah Mardini; Head of the Jubaili Family Office Ralph Sayah; and Education Program Director of the Rajab and Siham Jubaili Foundation Ibrahim Jouhari.

This new initiative reflects the foundation’s long-standing commitment to education, community empowerment, and sustainable development, values rooted in the Jubaili family’s multigenerational legacy in agriculture. The establishment of this scholarship is a testament to the values that have guided the family’s contributions to society for more than eight decades.

Rajab Jubaili is a Lebanese entrepreneur and agribusiness leader whose family has been working with Lebanon’s farmers since 1944, providing agricultural expertise and agrochemical products. Throughout his years of leadership, Jubaili developed a vision to modernize and expand his family’s enterprise into a globally recognized agribusiness.

In 2002, he founded Jubaili Agrotec Group in Nigeria, which proved to be a pivotal step toward realizing that vision. Under his leadership as founder and executive chairman, the group grew across West and East Africa, building a farmer-centric model centered on sustainability, knowledge transfer, and long-term local partnerships. Today, the company operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and Zambia.

Guided by the principle that “a sustainable future can only be achieved by growing a close relationship with farmers, understanding their needs, and providing them with the highest quality products and services,” Jubaili’s approach blends business success with deep social impact, an ethos that inspires his philanthropic work.

Jubaili and his wife, Siham, who are based in London, established the Rajab and Siham Jubaili Foundation to advance education, support the arts, and strengthen institutions. The foundation partners with universities in Lebanon and Nigeria, contributes to infrastructure development, and champions emerging Lebanese and African artists through collaborations with leading international art institutions and auction houses.

Establishing a scholarship at AUB reflects both the founders’ personal connection to Lebanon and their conviction that education unlocks opportunity. The scholarship will support talented students from underprivileged backgrounds from Saida and surrounding areas, a region close to Jubaili’s heart.

“This scholarship is about meeting students where they are and helping them move forward with confidence,” said Oueida. “It reflects the values we cherish here at AUB.”

By investing in students whose education can drive meaningful change, the scholarship upholds the same principles that have defined Jubaili’s faith in human potential.

“The establishment of the Rajab and Siham Jubaili Foundation Scholarship reflects a shared belief in education as a driving force for progress,” said Baalbaki. “Through this generous initiative, AUB students will be empowered to pursue their studies with dignity and purpose, with a chance to serve their communities and contribute to a more resilient future, the same way Mr. Jubaili is doing today.”
